Getting Started
Now that you have found our web site, it's time to create an account, join the Orlando Park Residents group, and start participating!
You can check to see if you are in the Orlando Park Community area here.
First thing to do is to email the admin to create an account. We ask that you use your real name, so that we know who you are.
When the account is created, don't forget to check the box next to Join Orlando Park Residents. (approval needed), as most content will be available only to members of that group. You can apply to join other groups listed if you want to participate on other organizational committees.
Information you enter will not be available to anyone except administrators and organizers, with the exception of your name and picture (if you supply one) in posts which you post publicly. If you post only to the Orlando Park Residents group, even that information will remain hidden from the public.

Click on Create new account to submit your application.
When your application is approved, use the supplied web page to confirm and login. If you have forgotten your password at any time, select the Request new password option under the login form, and follow the instructions.
Now that you are a full member, pick My account from the navigation menu, select the Edit tab and fill in some details. You can upload a picture of yourself, a small head shot, so that we will recognize you if we see you on the street. Sometimes it takes a while to put a name to a face!
On the same page, select whether you want to receive emails whenever a new post is created in the Orlando Park Residents group. You should also sign up for the newsletter so that you will receive periodic updates on what's going on.
Now you can start to invite others to join us online by visiting the Invite your neighbours page from the navigation menu. You can also use the express form on the sidebar to send invites, but you won't be able to enter a personalized message.
Time to start participating!
What can you do? You can:
- Create classified ads
- Upload images to galleries
- Post information to the various forums
- Add events of interest to the community to the calendar
- Comment on anything already posted
There are many organizational features built in to the web site to allow you to:
- invite people to events
- track RSVPs
- create registration forms for events
- fill volunteer rosters
- create information sharing areas and mailing lists for special interest groups
